If they are lucky they might finish with 76 points and lose another final, not the CL tho they wonât get so lucky with the draw next year. Iâm thinking more League Cup.
And yet they are trophyless.
They are like Spurs: no one will remember their great style of play if they donât win trophies.

You donât rate Man City ? A team that got 100 points yet Liverpool disposed of them 5-1 on aggregate.
Liverpool are actually showing ambition though. No, they didnât win any trophies, so what are they doing about it? Theyâre buying top-notch players to fill in the weaknesses. Theyâre building a pretty hot team there.
Itâs going to be hard for anyone to top City at the top of the PL, but theyâre at least giving it go and making the most of their resources, which canât have been said of us for the last God knows how many years.

Yeah I donât think they will win the Premier League, but Iâm liking Liverpool for 2nd place at this early stage.

Yeah couple of crucial disallowed goals in either game for the Shieks, but as you said still hugely impressive.
They pushed hard season before last fo top 4 and got it. Showed guts and gave their all and embraced the CL getting the final. Sold their best player mid season and didnt blink.
Their stock and money is right up at the moment.
As much as im excited to see what Emery can do here, it has to be with better players than we have now. Liverpools squad is improving a lot here and other players their are progressing as well.
They may be trophyless but Iâd sooner be in their position right now, signing top talent, playing good football and 2018 cl runners upâŚbeats our poor showing for the season!

Exactly.
Even if they donât win anything, at least they are doing everything they can.
Imagine what it must be like to be a supporter where, when things arenât going right, you get an exciting new manager, who is passionate and buys exciting new players, who play exciting football and really challenges for the PL, beating top teams along the way, and get to a CL final.
Then go into this transfer window and get in early and buy some more exciting players in positions they are weak in, while we rummage around in the bargain bucket.
What ever your feelings are towards Liverpool, they are doing the maximum with the resources they have while we do the bare minimum.

I think every team in the PL, more so, across the globe people will be looking at Liverpoolâs recent business with envy. Seen a few City fans on twitter rumbling on about them having to capitalise on their recent domestic triumphs right now, to make sure they stay ahead of the pack ffs. Theyâve got at least 2 quality players in each position!
I think we need some perspective here and realise the position weâre in and what we can realistically achieve out of this transfer window. Weâve already had a massive overhaul with a new manager coming in + all the backroom staff being put in place.
This doesnât excuse us not being proactive towards our transfers. I think Emery is satisfied with the defence and is shoring up the backline with some experience, in Sok/Big L. Looking forwards, I think heâll be after a quality CM too.
Kloppâs biggest profile signing of the 9 players he bought in 2016 was Mane for ÂŁ30M.

Liverpool is a long-term project. 3 years ago they hired one of the best managerial talents and let him work and build his own squad and style of football. If one fails to acknowledge that the season they had was a step in the right direction for them then they simply canât see the bigger picture.

That is such a well-balanced, well-managed, young squad with plenty of experience throughout.
Obviously there are patches that need filling and they wonât win the league this year, however there is another 2-3 transfer windows work tops needed for them to really assemble the level necessary to challenge.
If they indeed sign Fekir this summer and add a goalie and a partner for van Dijk at central defense during the winter/next summer, they will be challenging next year.

Those players had either an one year contract or had one particuler destination in mind. Should we have sold van Persie and Sanchez sooner than?
If Emery is good he should be able to get us into the CL. His style doesnât take too much time to implement anyway.
Also when we sold RVP we only spent less than half of the 24m on a replacement and it was the same with Cesc and Nasri.
These players left because our lack of investment and ambition, and it was proved when, after they were sold, they werenât adequately replaced in the same window.
Liverpool sell big and buy big.
We sell small and buy smaller.

Sales have been a joke and itâs all because of shitty management with regarding contracts.
Liverpool were even able to rob Chelsea of ÂŁ50mil for Torres when he was past his best and thatâs when that kind of money was huge.
They always tie down their best players to long term deals and are never really âforcedâ to sell whereas we are almost always held to ransom. Ramsey should have had his contract renewed at least two seasons ago but hey here we are yet again at the mercy of another player.

His contract was extended in 2014. When he had three years left on his deal in 2016 we should have started talks? It has been reported we started talks again last summer btw. The bitch ainât loyal.

Us âstarting talksâ hasnât meant a whole lot for some time, it seems half hearted to a degree.
And sure you can re-up with three years left with improved terms why not, of course thereâs the possibility he simply didnât want to but our concerted effort doesnât quite cut the mustard.
Liverpool managed to get Suarez, sterling and coutinho to sign a contract less than a year before they were sold. Itâs not like liverpools players wanted to move any less then ours.
In hindsight we gained absolutely nothing and lost a bucket load from running our players contracts down since we were unable to supplement these players with other quality players to form a title winning squad. Arsenal and Wenger were under the illusion by holding onto them into their final year we would still be able to win something big or persuade them to re-sign neither were true and its cost us big time.
