Man Utd vs Arsenal (Premier League)

I think any manager who takes that approach against us should be thrown off the roof of the Emirates, but after so long we know 8/9 out of 10 managers are going to play against us like that. Not having learned how to cope with it seems a bigger problem.

I would go with Coquelin-Kostafi-Monreal, Xhaka-Elneny Walcott-Alexis-Iwobi.

Wenger will go with either some defence including Gabriel at RB or Gabriel at CB with Mustafi pushed over to RB, Coquelin-Ramsey in midfield.

Three men at the back could be a good idea (@AbouCuellar apparently is in favour of this tactic), but unfortunately Arsène didn’t proved this tactic in his long-history with us. I remember one game with Sagna, Mertesacker and Vermaelen at the back, maybe a second half, but I’m not 100% sure.

With these players, Mustafi could play on the right, Koscielny in the centre and who on the left? We haven’t a CB with left foot as his favourite foot since Cygan (apart Vermaelen and Silvestre).

In my opinion, could be a risk to move Coquelin from midfield to RB. I’m not a fan of Jenkinson but I prefer him in this role, not changing the positions of Mustafi and Koscielny. Xhaka, Coquelin and Ramsey on midfield with Ozil on the left, Walcott on the right and Sanchez on upfront.

Coq-Elneny in the middle, imo. I fear this game for a player like Xhaka.

Why? :astonished:

I fear he isn’t ready for a big game yet. He runs the risk of getting sent off.

Remember this lol

Like a Benny Hill sketch. Will be interesting to see how we fuck it up this time.

Also we’re not confident and that’s despite facing a team that’s not going to have their super duper WC striker in it, plus without their best centre back, their 2nd best centre back and their best functioning right back. Rooney might be too hungover to play too apparently.

REDICULOUS.

Just shows how mentally scarred we are as a club/ fan base at certain venues against certain opposition under this Wenger Reign.

They aren’t that good. I don’t believe in hexes, we just need to play a tough, intelligent game and take the chances when they come.

-----------Sanchez--------------
Iwobi------Ozil--------Theo
-------Xhaka------Coq---------
Monreal–Kos-Mustafi–Jenks
---------------Cech-------------

I have no idea how they’ll line up. Maybe something like this? Their backline is pretty horrendous right now with the injuries they’ve faced. We should have opportunities to take advantage.

-----------Rashford---------------
Martial-----Mata--------Lingard
--------Pogba-----Herrera-------
Shaw–Blind–Rojo-----Darmian
------------De Gea---------------

A win and a draw should be the minimum against them this season. Chances are higher that we’ll beat them at home, so I’ll go into this expecting us to at least draw. Wouldn’t be too bad of a result in all honesty.

Marriner will be the referee of the game with M Oliver being fourth.

was it @AbouCuellar who said we should do this? If so Squaka have nicked your idea

What’s next… Hire a trequartista specialist for our training and a mediapunta to do twitter? Those damn squawka people stealing all of Cuellar’s ideas.

Interesting idea. I’m a bit scared to see Jenkison in the back 4.

“It’s time for arsene wenger to take a leaf out of recent tactical trends”

“Wenger should jump on the 3-4-3 bandwagon”

Football hipsters man. He really shouldn’t be employing a tactic just because others do. We have Debuchy, we have Jenkinson.

Jenkinson worries me a bit at RB, although he is very capable of surprising everyone and having a good game. Theo has covered well and I feel good with Xhaka and Coq both back there. We need to be riding Giroud at CF right now because when he is scoring, he’s scoring a lot. In the limited time he had against Spurs he came as close as anyone to getting a goal.

Im actually glad Fellani of all players is out of this one.
He would have caused us some damage imo.
Be up for this one united especially after a break.
Weather likely be awful too. Desire is key in this one for me.
I fancy a no thrill 0 0 and dont mind as long as we battle.
Defeat and it,ll be title ender. The spurs result can only be judged on the outcome of this.
