Who would you like to replace Arsène Wenger?

I don’t think it is, I don’t rate him like that.

When you have most the likely the greatest front three of all time playing damn near every game there’s very little area for exposure but Enrique still managed it, the team definitely wasn’t the best Barca side but it was the best attack world football has seen for years if ever.

Of course he won, who wouldn’t with those three in the form they were in? It was like a cheat code, some of you may be in for a rude awakening if he comes here. It’s very easy to look at what he’s won as a measure of his ability as manager but the reality is almost any competent manager would have achieved similar with MSN as their attacking trident.

There is no set value for this. Just like the player market, an asset is worth only what the buyer is willing to pay.

I think youre over analysing the situation. Have you seen a coaching session from Enrique for example? He could be shit hot intense like Pep for all we know.

But it is believed Enrique earned in the region of £16.5 million-a-year by the time he stood down from his Barça role at the end of last season, having won two La Liga titles, the Champions League and three Copa del Reys.

That is far in excess of the £9.5m-a-year wages Chelsea rewarded Conte with for winning the Premier League title last season and is even more than Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho earn at Manchester City and Manchester United.

Enrique’s wage demands, therefore, could provide a stumbling block over a proposed move to Stamford Bridge and offer hope to Thomas Tuchel, the former Borussia Dortmund manager, and Maurizio Sarri of Napoli, who are both interested in the Chelsea job and would be much cheaper.

From The Telegraph. Again; how credible is it that he was that highly paid? Or that he would want this money. They just assume.

Will he go to Arsenal or Chelsea?

@MrArsenicTM
The article also mentioned that Enrique would demand his new club has the resources to attract top players and compete for the biggest trophies.”

That would be Chelsea then.

we can afford just as much if not more than chavski. The thing of transfer spend etc is a myth.

So Enrique wants to sign with Chelsea because their sporting project is more interesting? A sporting project he’ll be involved with for about 20 months before he gets the sack. Not that I mind, don’t want him as our manager anyways.

You make a fair point. However, there is a host of managers who have failed with great teams in the past, he did well to manage them the way he did (especially in the first two seasons). I guess considering what he did before that the next club he chooses will be a real measure of where he is at as a manager. I do however think that he is the best manager that we’ve been linked to.

I agree the next move will be a measure of his ability right now but that he’s the best manager we’ve been linked to? Not by a long shot.

He came to Barca and attempted to take on MSN and failed, played Gomes, Iniesta and Busquets away to PSG and got rinsed and there’s more. MSN covered up a lot of his flaws, he won’t have that level of protection elsewhere.

Is it bad that I’m already sick of this conversation? Probably because we’ve been having it for 10 years.

Of those four names touted I’d be most keen on Jardim by some distance. Really admire what he did at Monaco, even with a generational talent like Mbappe it was still mightily impressive imo.

I don’t get the Enrique hype and don’t know how he can justify the sane amount off wages he wants. Not even pep or mourinho get that much and their far more successful then Enrique ever been.

Van gaal said he’s got a good offer to return to management maybe he’s our new manager

Yup, exactly what I would expect from the Arsenal board. Every team around us is hiring sure thing managers, and we are gonna go for this guy, pay way too much for him, and knowing us not have the balls to sack him when he’s shit cuz we don’t wanna pay him off.

Simeone all day long. He’s the only one who’ll get the winning streak back in this team .
Stop pissing about Gazidis and sign him .
I’m dreading next Thursday’s return game but it’s a funny ol’game.
Simeone is one .
