I feel like the spending restrictions may be relaxed at this point, even without CL next season.
If we are spending 35m on Xhaka and Mustafi, and around 50m on Laca and Auba then surely a new manager would be given a decent amount of funds.

However, they are throrough, and we should give Gazidis and the boys a chance. They have dealt with the Wenger situation and his exit the best they could with some good moves and allowed for a nice goodbye.
They will now be conducting a thorough process to get the best man as his replacement.
We’ll just have to be patient, but they will consider everybody. This is the first time in 22 years the job has been available ffs allow them some time to get the process underway.

I hope you’re right, but in the last three seasons, although we have spent around 180m on those players, we have also sold around the same amount, so our net spend isn’t that much.
If we want to attract the best person for the job, the 50m the board have been talking about, would seem peanuts to a top European manager.
Yeah that’s a good point on the net spend.
50m will either get you one world class player or two decent ones basically, and certainly we need more then that.

The issue with bringing in someone like Arteta is that you’re essentially hoping he’ll be like Pep and there’s no way we’re even close to having a squad appropriate enough to play Pep’s football and actually be a successful and competitive team.

I 100% agree with this, I think Arteta wouldn’t be a great choice at the moment.
We also have to take into account that Gaurdiola will know all of his tricks, cause he’s the one who has been teaching him.

That is probably the least important. First off all he can learn the language (did so in France). We can hire French/Portuguese speaking assistants. He can have a translator to deal with the press like Poch did. We have some French speaking players he can communicate with.
